Southern Highlands Attractions Member ResourcesSHA Pass Exceptions 2013 Barter Theatre Due to the high volume of attendance to the holiday shows, Barter Theatre will not honor the pass during December 7th – December 25th. Biltmore will honor the pass for daytime admission only on any day except the following: Saturdays during April, October, November and December. On Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving, or visits from Christmas Day to New Year’s Day. Pass is not valid for Twelve-Month Pass upgrades, specialty tours, outdoor activities, and evening events. Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park will honor the pass at any time, but due to large crowds and long lines, they recommend that you not visit on weekends in July and October, or on Memorial Day or Labor Day weekends, if at all possible. The pass is not good for special workshops, the climbing tower or for rock climbing instructions. Grandfather Mountain No exceptions, but holidays and October weekends are very busy; plan to arrive early if attending during these times. Great Smoky Mountains Railroad requires advance reservations made by phone only for train excursion seating, and the pass is only good for seating on the train ride. Reservations may be made by calling 828-586-8811. The pass does not cover upgrades to Crown, or Club First Class, meal options or luncheons, boxed lunches or overnight accommodation packages. The railroad will not honor the pass on Saturdays in October or during certain special fundraising events. Pass may be used during specified blackout dates for certain Premier Special Events. Peanuts Easter Beagle, Lone Ranger, Thomas the Tank, Peanuts Pumpkin Patch or Polar Express. The pass may be applied to the train seat on Mystery Theatre Dinner Trains. Lost Sea will not honor SHA passes for their Wild Cave Tours; this includes the Super Saturday Adventure Tour. Nantahala Outdoor Center requires reservations by calling 828-488-2175, option 2. The pass is good for the following rafting trips: any ½ Day Nantahala River trip, ½ Day French Broad, Upper or Lower Pigeon River and Middle Ocoee. NOC will not honor the pass on peak days, including Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. The SHA member must participate in the activity and can bring up to 4 additional people on guide-assisted trips and 1 additional person on fully guided trips. There may be minimum age requirements for children, depending on the type of rafting trip and the river. All SHA Members can participate in the zlap (currently the Zip Line) and the Adventure Park (Ropes Course). Old Salem will not honor SHA passes for any evening programs (such as holiday candlelight tours) or as payment for museum classes. Old Salem is closed on Mondays and Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Dec. 24 and 25. Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. Does not include special programs, events or U-Pick Combos. Rock City will honor the pass at its evening “Enchanted Garden of Lights” Sunday thru Wednesday only from mid-November through January. The pass may be used for visits during the day during this time. Rock City will NOT honor the pass for its Enchanted Maize which operates only during the months of September and October. Ruby Falls will not honor SHA passes for lantern tours or other specialty tours requiring advance reservation. Ruby Falls will not honor SHA passes on Friday and Saturday nights during the Haunted Cavern from the end of September to the first of November. Tweetsie Railroad will not honor SHA passes for the10-day "Day Out with Thomas" event featuring Thomas The Tank Engine, May 31 thru June 9, 2013; or the Ghost Train Halloween Festival, Friday and Saturday nights Sept. 27th thru Nov. 2, 2013 (although SHA Passes are valid for daytime visits during that period). __________________________________________________________ Web Site guidelines for SHA Member Attractions SHA members should design their own websites with the goal of making it easy for site visitors to learn about other SHA member attractions. Member sites should prominently display the SHA logo and provide a link to the southernhighlands.org home page. The SHA logo and link should be easy to find on each member's web site. Suggested positions are one of the following:
Text accompanying the logo should emphasize that the link will provide the the visitor with information on other interesting attractions. Suggested text lines include: [Attraction name] is proud to be a member of Southern Highlands Attractions, the most highly acclaimed points of interest in the Southern Highland Region of the United States.
